Coaching To The Soul – A Masterclass with the Internationally Renowned Coach, Aboodi Shabi

Last week, I took part in a masterclass with the internationally renowned coach Aboodi Shabi, hosted by the Cumbria Coaching Network. Aboodi was inspirational, amusing, empathetic and a master of his subject.
We explored how to move beyond transactional coaching, (using the rational brain to help the coachee to sort out their plan of action), to coaching with the limbic brain and making a connection on an emotional level with the coachee, in order to help them move their issues forward.
Our society tends to prioritise the rational brain and puts more emphasis on results rather than people. Yet it is people’s feelings and concerns that are often the real barriers to achievement, both individually and organisationally. So, by learning to coach the real person, we have the opportunity to unblock barriers to personal learning, development, performance, wellbeing and happiness.
If you would like to learn how to use coaching to get the best from your staff, colleagues and managers, join us for the Coaching Workshop on 2 November 2010.
At Skills2Grow we will be having a focus on Leadership, Managing Performance and Coaching over the next few months. You can attend all three workshops at a special price of £950 if you book before 31 August.
Look out for more articles on how to get the best from your employees over the next few months!

Hi Beth
This sounds really interesting – if you have any further tips on coaching for the soul I’d like to know about them. I know you can tell me directly but it would be great if you would share with our readers too.
